GAL Vitamin D3
4 drops a day for complete vitamin D supplementation!
GAL’s formula contains natural vitamin D3, which is best utilised by the body, in high doses, dissolved in organic coconut oil to aid absorption. It contributes to the healthy functioning of the immune and nervous systems, strengthens bones, and helps prevent tumours and autoimmune diseases.
How can we get enough vitamin D?
In sunny weather, even half an hour spent outdoors can meet your daily vitamin D requirement. However, the number of hours of sunshine is not evenly distributed throughout the year; the smog typical of large cities also reduces the light needed for vitamin synthesis; and in old age, the skin is no longer able to produce the necessary amount. The amount obtained through diet is minimal, which is why vitamin D deficiency has become a widespread phenomenon.
Types of vitamin D
The term ‘vitamin D’ encompasses two types of fat-soluble vitamins: vitamins D2 and D3.
Vitamin D2 is produced from the plant-derived provitamin ergosterol under the influence of ultraviolet radiation. It is found in significant quantities in yeast, certain species of fungi and cod liver oil. The majority of naturally occurring vitamin D is vitamin D3, which is formed from the animal-derived provitamin 7-dehydrocholesterol under the influence of sunlight or artificial irradiation.
Both vitamins have the same biological value; however, vitamin D3 is more active and is utilised more effectively by the body.
