Illy Espresso Classico Intenso – 250 g whole bean coffee.Flavour profile and roast: this represents the intense, full-bodied style: roasted, cocoa, dark chocolate and spicy notes come to the fore, with a more subdued perceived acidity. The darker roast dissolves more easily, so it can quickly become bitter and drying if brewed at too high a temperature or for too long.Preparation tip: A barista’s starting point – 36–42 g of brew from 18 g of ground coffee in a double filter basket, over 25–30 seconds, with water at 90–93 °C. For a sour, thin-bodied cup, use a finer grind or a higher temperature; for a bitter, drying aftertaste, a coarser grind, lower temperature or shorter extraction time is recommended. In a milk-based drink, a shorter, more concentrated extraction better preserves the coffee’s character.Storage: Once opened, reseal the pack airtight and store in a dry, cool place, protected from light and strong odours.
