Tchibo Barista Intense – 250 g ground coffee.Flavour profile and roast: this coffee represents an intense, full-bodied profile, with roasted, cocoa, dark chocolate and spicy notes coming to the fore, accompanied by a more subdued acidity. The darker roast dissolves more easily, so it can quickly become bitter and drying if brewed at too high a temperature or for too long.Preparation tip: The fineness of the factory grind is fixed, so in a lever machine you can adjust the settings by varying the dose and extraction time: as a starting point, use 32–40 g of brew for 16–18 g of ground coffee, with an extraction time of 25–30 seconds. If the flow rate is too fast, a larger dose or firmer, horizontal tamping may help; if the flow is too slow, a smaller dose may help. Water quality is also a key factor here: water that is too hard can dull the aromas, whilst water that is too soft can result in a sharper acidity.Storage: once opened, reseal the packet airtight and store in a dry, cool place, protected from light and strong odours.
