GAL Glycine
Glycine is a natural amino acid found in large quantities in collagen. Due to its sweet taste without any aftertaste, it is also suitable for sweetening food and drinks.
It is heat-stable, so it can be used in baked goods and hot drinks. Its sweetness is almost identical to that of normal granulated sugar.
Optimal blood sugar
It significantly reduces the blood-sugar-raising effect of glucose (and therefore carbohydrates). It enhances the effectiveness of insulin, yet raises insulin levels almost not at all; conversely, it does increase levels of the beneficial hormone glucagon, which acts as insulin’s “counterpart”. It also reduces the high blood lipid levels observed in cases of insulin resistance.
Skin
Our skin contains significant amounts of collagen, and therefore glycine as well. The wrinkle-reducing, skin-firming, moisturising and skin-rejuvenating effects of collagen peptides are well known and have been extensively researched. Collagen, in turn, owes its effects largely to its high glycine content. Collagen, glycine, vitamin C, grape skin and seed extracts, and bioflavonoids can be an excellent combination when considering the youthful appearance of our skin from the inside out. Nervous system: In small quantities, it enhances alertness and circulation in the brain’s microcapillaries. Furthermore, according to various studies, it is an effective treatment for depression, schizophrenia and OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).
