Segafredo Intermezzo – 250g ground coffee.Coffee blend: Arabica–Robusta blend; the exact ratio is not disclosed by the manufacturer.Flavour profile and roast: this is an intense, full-bodied coffee: roasted, cocoa, dark chocolate and spicy notes come to the fore, with a more subdued acidity. The darker roast dissolves more readily, so brewing at too high a temperature or for too long can quickly result in a bitter and drying flavour.Preparation tip: The fineness of the factory grind determines the appropriate brewing method; follow the guidance on the packaging. For filter brewing, 55–65 g of coffee per litre of water and a temperature of 92–96 °C are a good starting point. When using a drip coffee maker, the filter should be filled without tamping, and brewing should ideally be stopped before the loud gurgling sound begins. Water quality is also a key factor here: water that is too hard can dull the aromas, whilst water that is too soft can result in a sharper acidity.Storage: once opened, reseal the packet airtight and store in a dry, cool place, protected from light and strong odours.
