We recommend our product primarily for those who eat few egg yolks and little liver. Even according to the EFSA, the recommended daily intake of choline is at least 400 mg for adults. One egg yolk contains 100–150 mg, whilst 10 dkg of liver contains 200–450 mg of choline. Other foods have a low choline content (apart from caviar, marrow and a few other uncommon foods). Anyone who does not eat 2–3 egg yolks a day, plus liver at least once a week if possible, will therefore struggle to reach even the 400 mg daily choline intake. Yet adequate choline intake is important, not least because it contributes to proper:

•   digestion through the production of gastric acid
•   liver function
•   homocysteine metabolism
•   fat metabolism

Our product contains choline in the form of a so-called choline salt (choline chloride), which we have chosen because it is a well-absorbed, stable form that has been used in many studies, and because it requires no carrier substances other than water.

Consuming an adequate amount of choline is important for the proper functioning of our brain, nervous system, liver and kidneys; indeed, it is essential for the smooth functioning of every cell in our body.
